Canada’s Premier Green Space Architects

At Landscaping Pros, we transform outdoor areas into functional, sustainable, and breathtaking environments tailored to Canadian climates and lifestyles. From urban courtyard revamps in Vancouver to estate-scale garden masterplans in Calgary, our end-to-end services cover design, installation, and maintenance. Rely on our team of certified landscape architects, horticulturists, and installation crews to bring your outdoor vision to life—with ecological integrity and lasting beauty.
About Us – Crafting Landscape Legacies Since 2010
Founded by award-winning designer Sophie Laurent, Landscaping Pros began as a cottage operation in Victoria, BC, and has since expanded to serve major markets across British Columbia, Alberta, and Ontario. Our central studio in Vancouver coordinates multi-disciplinary teams that include landscape architects (BC Society of Landscape Architects members), certified horticulturalists (OALA students), and environmental engineers. We propagate native plant species in our Surrey nursery and employ water-wise, low-maintenance techniques to create landscapes that thrive with minimal inputs. Accredited by Landscape Ontario and the Canadian Nursery Landscape Association (CNLA), we integrate Te Aranga Māori design principles on Indigenous-collaborative projects, underscoring our commitment to cultural stewardship and ecological restoration.
Our Services
Conceptual Design & Master Planning
Collaborative kickoff workshops explore your site’s microclimate, soil profiles, and functional requirements—from entertaining to edible gardens. We develop CAD masterplans, 3D renderings, and immersive VR walkthroughs that refine spatial layouts, circulation, and focal points. Cultural and ecological narratives are woven into hardscape alignments and planting patterns. Detailed phasing schedules and budget estimates ensure transparent planning and smooth execution. This front-end investment creates cohesive designs that endure and adapt over decades.
Custom Hardscape & Structural Installations
Our artisans build bespoke features—dry-stack basalt retaining walls, custom steel sculptures, and reclaimed-timber pergolas—using locally sourced materials wherever possible. Permeable paving systems incorporate interlocking pavers or pervious concrete to manage stormwater on-site. Water features such as reflective pools, rain gardens, and sculptural fountains are engineered for self-cleansing and ecological benefits. Integrated lighting designs create safe, enchanting night-time ambiances with minimal energy use. Every structural element is engineered for durability, functionality, and aesthetic harmony.
Planting Design & Ecological Gardens
We craft layered planting schemes that prioritize native and climate-adapted species—salal, Oregon grape, and manzanita in the West Coast; prairie grasses and wildflowers in the Prairies; and sugar maples and ferns in Eastern Canada. Soil-amelioration protocols include compost top-dressing, biochar infusion, and mycorrhizal inoculation to boost microbial diversity. Seasonal rotations ensure year-round interest, and edible gardens integrate fruit trees, berry bushes, and herb spirals. Installation crews use low-impact hand-planting techniques to preserve existing root systems and minimize compaction. Post-planting care includes mulch maintenance and early-growth monitoring for optimal establishment.
Irrigation, Drainage & Water Management
Our smart irrigation solutions incorporate weather-adaptive controllers, drip-line arrays, and soil moisture sensors to reduce water use by up to 50%. Rainwater-harvesting systems capture roof runoff into cisterns for landscape reuse. Grading and French-drain networks mitigate surface water pooling and protect foundations. Biofiltration swales and constructed wetlands improve stormwater quality before release. Remote-monitoring platforms allow real-time system diagnostics and leak detection. These integrated water-management strategies keep landscapes lush and sustainable.
Maintenance & Seasonal Care Plans
Tailored maintenance programs cover pruning, fertilization with organic blends, weed management, and pest monitoring. Certified horticulturists conduct quarterly site health audits—assessing soil nutrients, plant vigor, and irrigation efficiency. Mulch replenishment and compost applications support nutrient cycles and moisture retention. We offer on-call storm-damage repairs, holiday plant installations, and seasonal color refreshes. Long-term maintenance agreements ensure your landscape continues to flourish and evolve with minimal homeowner effort.
Commercial & Community Projects
Beyond residential work, we partner with municipalities, schools, and developers on public parks, green corridors, and streetscape enhancements. Our turnkey service includes site analysis, community engagement workshops, and post-occupancy evaluations to measure ecological and social benefits. We incorporate public-art installations, wayfinding gardens, and therapeutic landscapes for healthcare campuses. Our team navigates permitting, construction coordination, and long-term stewardship plans. These large-scale projects showcase our capacity for innovation and community impact.
Our Advantages
  • Award-Winning Design Team
Landscaping Pros has earned multiple CNLA Gold Awards for innovation in sustainable design and community-centered projects. Our lead designers hold degrees in landscape architecture and collaborate with Indigenous knowledge holders to ensure culturally respectful outcomes. We publish case studies in industry journals and present at national conferences on topics like rain-garden efficacy and native pollinator support. This recognized expertise brings creative vision and proven success to every project.
  • Integrated Ecological Approach
Sustainability is at the core of our practice: we prioritize native species, closed-loop soil amendments, and low-impact construction methods. Our ecological assessments—evaluating habitat connectivity, soil health, and hydrology—inform design decisions that enhance biodiversity and resilience. We track metrics such as infiltration rates, carbon sequestration, and pollinator visits to quantify environmental benefits. Collaborative research partnerships with universities refine best practices and foster continuous improvement.
  • End-to-End Project Management
From initial feasibility studies through long-term maintenance, our in-house project managers coordinate budgets, schedules, and subcontractors. We employ digital collaboration platforms for real-time progress tracking, budget management, and stakeholder approvals. Detailed Gantt charts and milestone reports keep you informed at every phase. Post-install, our maintenance division ensures design intent endures—handling warranty issues and adaptive enhancements as needed.
  • State-of-the-Art Technology
We leverage drones for topographic mapping, GIS tools for site analysis, and VR platforms for immersive presentations. Soil-sensor networks feed live data into our irrigation controllers, enabling hyper-local water management. 3D printing produces custom hardscape components, reducing waste and lead times. Our commitment to technology enhances accuracy, speeds delivery, and enriches client involvement in the creative process.
  • Client-Centric Communication
Transparent, frequent communication is a hallmark of our service. You receive weekly progress emails, photo updates, and on-site walkthroughs during construction. Our client portal archives all project documents—drawings, permits, invoices, and meeting minutes—for easy reference. Dedicated account managers serve as your single point of contact, coordinating everything from design revisions to maintenance scheduling. This responsiveness builds trust and ensures alignment with your vision.
  • Community Engagement & Giving Back
Landscaping Pros dedicates a portion of annual profits to community greening initiatives—park restorations, school garden programs, and habitat-creation workshops. Our staff volunteers in invasive-species removal days and tree-planting events across urban and rural communities. We host free seasonal seminars on sustainable gardening and native-plant propagation. By choosing us, you contribute to a company that actively invests in Canada’s environmental health and community resilience.
